The unit received was defective, even with correct drivers was not detected by usb on Ubuntu 10.04 and usb connection was unstable under OSX 10.4 and never established stable connection to base station. Did not tightly fit usb connectors on either machine tested, probably the source of the failure to detect or remain stable. An older usb wifi stick works flawlessly on both machines.

I bought this for use with Ubuntu 11.10 64-bit. When I first inserted the USB drive, my computer was on and I was logged in; I was instantly able to select a wireless network instantly.
Signal quality through two walls and 25 feet is almost a constant 90%, and the bandwidth stays at around 150Mbps.

I use this with my Linux Mint 11 desktop. It's plug n' play.... no hassle with the terminal. However, the signals aren't good. I'm only about 15 feet from the router (1 wall) and I can get 2/3 out of 4 bars...mostly 2 bars.
